LIVING SACRIFICE…On Tour

Posted in Tours with tags , , on 12/29/2009 by inmystead

Metal legends LIVING SACRIFICE have announced a U.S. co-headlining tour, dubbed ‘The Abominable Snowtour’, that will crisscross the nation from February 5-28. The band will share top billing throughout the tour with metal cohorts WAR OF AGES, with support from SHAI HULUD, LIONHEART and THE GREAT COMMISSION.

“We are really excited to get out and play some of the new stuff live,” says LIVING SACRIFICE frontman Bruce Fitzhugh. “We’re also stoked on the other bands on the tour. I’ve been a fan of SHAI HULUD for years, and we have become close with the WAR OF AGES guys over the last few years, playing together at festivals. We’re just really glad to be able to do this.”

The tour comes on the heels of the release of The Infinite Order, in stores January 26 on SolidState Records. The album - LIVING SACRIFICE’s seventh full-length overall, and first since 2002’s acclaimed Conceived In Fire – is shaping up to be one of 2010’s most hotly anticipated metal releases. The Infinite Order finds the band returning to its thrash roots for an unapologetic reminder of how unrelenting, honest metal is done at a time when some folks could use a reminder.   There aren’t too many metal lifers out there who AREN’T named SLAYER or METALLICA that are still making ferociously relevant music 20 years into their career. LIVING SACRIFICE are among the few and the proud, and despite the fact that they have inspired a huge portion of today’s young metal bands, they’re still playing like they’ve got something to prove.”  LIVING SACRIFICE have opened the gates for album pre-orders, with several options available, including added value such as DVDs and t-shirts. Options can be viewed at:

DEMON HUNTER…new album new members

Posted in Albums, News with tags on 10/28/2009 by inmystead

dh_v_teaser_header

Greetings.

As many of you may already know, we recently announced some news regarding the future of Demon Hunter at our Huntour shows.

Firstly, we would like to officially announce some lineup changes that we’ve recently undergone and will undergo in the coming months. My brother, Don, whom I started this band with in 2001, has decided to leave the band due to increasing priorities with both his home life (not least of which are his two amazing kids, my niece and nephew), and his constant workload with the design firm that he and I continue to undertake together, Invisible Creature. I’m saddened to see Don leave, as we have shared so many great times together in the band, written some amazing songs together, played in bands together since we were teenagers, and built every aspect of this band from the beginning with a shared vision. However, Don’s decision to move on comes with a deep understanding on my part. As he told me recently, he will continue to be “Demon Hunter’s biggest fan,” as he continues to watch the band progress.

We, as a band, and more specifically I, would like to give Don my most heartfelt “thank you” for everything he has contributed to this band from day one. We are forever grateful for the passion, vision, artistry and talent that you brought this band. You will be missed. We love you, and wish you the very best with every future endeavor.

Additionally, Ethan Luck, who has been with Demon Hunter since The Triptych (2005) has also decided to leave the band as his responsibilities with Relient K (in which he plays drums) continue to escalate. Ethan played a very essential role in recording and performing on both The Triptych and Storm The Gates Of Hell, and his professionalism and friendship are a vital part of what Demon Hunter has become over the last 4 years.

We would like to thank Ethan for all of his hard work, dedication and friendship. His contribution, in both craft and spirit have helped us become who we are as a band. We also wish Ethan all the best with whatever may lie ahead.

Patrick Judge, who filled in for Ethan during the Stronger Than Hell Tour and appears on the Live in Nashville album is now an official member of Demon Hunter. We are very pleased to welcome Patrick into the fold. His skill, devotion and drive have already proven to be instrumental in the continual evolution of the band and we’re excited to see what the future holds with his inclusion.

Last, but not least, we have been busy working on material for our 5th album, which we will be entering the studio to record in October. At this point, I would say about 90% of the music has been written, and probably about 40% of the lyrics/melodies. As cliché as it can be to say, the album is shaping up to be heavier, faster, and more aggressive than previous Demon Hunter material (and there might be a ballad or two in there for good measure). As always, we’re doing our best to maintain the classic DH sound, all while introducing some new and exciting ideas to keep things exciting. I’m extremely proud of what we have so far, and I can’t wait to enter the studio and hear it come to life!

Stay tuned in the coming months for additional news regarding the new album!

Thank you, everyone, for your continued support.

-Ryan Clark & Demon Hunter

*Update: yes, that is our buddy Randy Torres from Project 86 in the picture. Those of you who came to our Huntour mini-festival event know that he helped us out at the shows. Patrick Judge is the only official new member at the moment, however, Randy is helping us out and we’re very grateful to him for his service! Randy rules.

LIVING SACRIFICE – “The Infinite Order” (1.26.10)

LIVING SACRIFICE…Bruce interviewed on NoiseCreep

Posted in Interviews, News with tags on 10/16/2009 by inmystead

LivSac2
Living Sacrifice
vocalist/guitarist Bruce Fitzhugh was recently in Southern California to film a video and play a show with Demon Hunter. It’s pretty much business as usual for the Christian metal band, which has adopted an ‘easy does it’ approach to its reformation, which is only part-time. But that doesn’t diminish the members’ investment! The band’s latest album, ‘The Infinite Order,’ is due out Nov. 3 on longtime label Solid State, and it’s Living Sac’s first full-length, studio release of all new material since 2002’s ‘Conceived in Fire.’

When Fitzhugh got the itch to play again, he went right to his old comrades to exhume Living Sacrifice, rather than recruit new musicians and start an entirely new project under a brand new moniker. “I only wanted to do it if these guys wanted to do it,” Fitzhugh told Noisecreep on quick break away from the weekend’s busy schedule. “We’re all still friends, and we’re close.” Since it felt right to reconnect, the band moved forward.

“We got back together last year, with the intent of doing a record. Unfortunately, the contractual process took longer than anticipated, and we have been busy with our families and work, so we took our time writing the record,” Fitzhugh admitted.

Additionally, guitarist Rocky Gray remains prolific, with commitments to his other bands, especially We Are the Fallen, which is the new project from ex-members of Evanescence. Fitzhugh continued, “We are having fun, but we’re not trying to make it a career again. Rocky is full time with other bands.” Fitzhugh is also involved heavily in www.zambooie.com, an online merchandising endeavor.

Fans can expect Living Sacrifice to play shows, but not on the same level as their past, when they were a full-time entity. Fitzhugh said, “We want to get the music out there and to play out. But we won’t live on the road. The music is fast, heavy and thrashy. Based on our last two records, it’s what you’d expect. We love metal and playing heavy music. We didn’t wimp out at all.” Hallelujah!
